Anal Vomit is one of the oldest and most notorious extreme metal bands to come from
the South American underground, composed of three warriors fiercely loyal to the roots of barbaric,
blasphemous, and satanic metal. With nearly 20 years in the scene and their latest release
Gathering of the Putrid Demons, they once again affirmed their unwavering stance.
We recently caught up with Roy “Noizer”, who graciously agreed to answer our questions.

MORBIDZINE: Hails to the Peruvian blasphemic metal maniacs from Turkey! In 2012, Anal Vomit will celebrate its 20th anniversary. Are you planning a special release, maybe with guest appearances from the underground scene, or any other special works?
NOIZER: SORRY FOR MY BAD AND EVIL ENGLISH OK!! Yes, maybe next year a special CD like you said, with some friends, but it’s only an idea—it’s not sure for now!! I hope all the best for ANAL FUCKING VOMIT!!
MORBIDZINE: Gathering of the Putrid Demons sounds tighter and more structured, while still deeply rooted in primitive death-thrash-black metal. It has vibes reminiscent of Morbid Angel, Angelcorpse, etc. compared to the previous release. Tell us about this album and how it differs from Depravation. How long did it take to record?
NOIZER: Our idea at the moment of composition is the same as the previous recordings... for us it’s the same bestial shit: obscure riffs, devastating screams, primitive drums, and detonating bass. South American metal—raw and insane!!
MORBIDZINE: Will you release another new album or a split in 2010? What are your plans for this year?
NOIZER: Now our tour in all the months APRIL/MAY 2010, by cities of our magic Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and Venezuela!! Maybe 60 days out of our natal city!! ARRTTGTHHHHHHH beers, noise, and metal!!
MORBIDZINE: The song "Narcomatanza" starts with a dramatic march. What’s the story behind using that? And how did you get inspired by "The King Cocalus"? Is it about the mythological Sicilian king?
NOIZER: It’s an intro—this is a traditional song played before the death of police here in our country. It was a great idea for the song, which talks about the death of false police, lawyers, and corrupt people.
MORBIDZINE: We know your influences—Brazilian legends like Sarcófago, Sextrash, Holocausto, Mutilator, and other classics like Possessed, Sodom, Morbid Angel, Blasphemy, Angelcorpse, early Sepultura, and Slayer. But what are some lesser-known or surprising influences on Anal Vomit?
NOIZER: Other hordes as: Hadez, Mortuorio, Venom, Destruction, Krisiun, and of course—our own style!!
MORBIDZINE: In your early years, Anal Vomit had more of a gore-themed death/grind style. What was the turning point that shifted the band into black metal–infused death/thrash with satanic and blasphemous themes? Have people misunderstood you as a grindcore band because of the name?
NOIZER: That was another era—grind—with other maniacs in the band. After 1997–1998, the lineup changed and so did the music. Now Anal Vomit is in a new era with new musicians, but the basic idea has always been mine: my compositions and lyrics continue with the same wrath and lust, the dark and putrid ideology of ANAL VOMIT! Anal Vomit is Anal Vomit forever—kick ass!!
MORBIDZINE: Demoniac Flagellations is perhaps your most thrash/black-leaning release. Would it be fair to say that your sound has become rawer and more death metal oriented with each record?
NOIZER: That album was recorded in an analog studio in 2004—it was a bomb, a detonation for all the old and new bangers on this black putrid globe. I don’t know of any other bands with the same sound as us at that time. I hope more hordes rise with the real South American sound!!
MORBIDZINE: Many people compare your vocals to Wagner from Sarcófago. Do you agree?
NOIZER: Yes!! Sarcófago is my favorite band from Brazil!! Few musicians and bands sound like these masters of South American blasphemic evil thrashing death metal!!! For us it’s an honor to be called the new Sarcófago!! ARGTHHHHHHHHH!!
MORBIDZINE: Did you ever consider recording a full-length album in the 1990s? What delayed your debut until 2004? What was the state of labels, gigs, zines, and the Peruvian scene back then? Also, name the oldest Peruvian fanzine you know.
NOIZER: Peruvian zines: Explosion Cerebral, Aquellarre Zine, Temple of the Damned, Profaner Zine, Guttural Breath Zine, Resistencia Zine, and many more. Today we have Metal Head Zine, Metal House Zine.
MORBIDZINE: Which country would you most like to play in outside of South America?
NOIZER: For us the main idea is BRAZIL—the cradle of underground South American cult metal, and our greatest influence. Maybe next year ANAL VOMIT kicks ass in some cities of Brazil!! ARGHHHH it will be a pleasure!!
MORBIDZINE: You seem to have a close connection with Goat Semen. Have the two bands played or toured together? Do you ever exchange compositions or just drink together? :)
NOIZER: Yeahhh Goat Semen is inactive at the moment, maybe next year they return with full force!! ARGTHHH we’re a great team with these alcoholic zombies!! Salutes to them!!
MORBIDZINE: Bestial Possession’s debut came out last year, but I believe the band existed for 7–8 years. Have you ever considered giving up on it? Also, is the track “Bestial Possession” from Depravation related to that band’s name?
NOIZER: YESSSSSSSS the name is our idea for them!! Bestial Possession is a real horde and has many fans around the world. Their debut album is Duros, Ebrios, y Lujuriosos—“duros” means hard-headed from cocaine (haha), “ebrios” means drunk (haha), and “lujuriosos” means lustful!! We have a strong relationship with these ugly mutants from Trujillo Hell—that’s the north of Peruvian Hell!!
MORBIDZINE: Lima has birthed many cult underground bands like Hadez, Mortem, Goat Semen, and of course Anal Vomit. Apart from Lima, which towns have the most active extreme scenes? What are your favorite new bands from Peru and South America?
NOIZER: Peru: Metralla, Saram, Levifer, Evil Damn, Inhumano, Belzec, and more.
From Bolivia: Bestial Holocaust.
From Colombia: Masacre, Witchtrap.
From Brazil: Krisiun.
From Argentina: Tuengsteno.
MORBIDZINE: Can you name some 1980s cult bands that have lost their old spirit and become “brand” names?
NOIZER: Sepultura, Metallica, Sodom, Kreator, etc.
MORBIDZINE: What are your favorite releases from 2009 and 2010?
NOIZER: Toxic Holocaust, Bestial Possession, Violator from Brazil.
MORBIDZINE: Are there NSBM bands or supporters in Peru? What are your thoughts on NSBM?
NOIZER: Uhmmmmmmmmmm...
MORBIDZINE: We interviewed Hell Torment from Lima in 2009. He mentioned that it’s hard to find good drummers in Peru. Do you agree? (In Turkey, it’s the same! Haha.)
NOIZER: It’s true! It’s very hard to find musicians for extreme metal here. Most people play heavy, rock, power, or thrash... But extreme metal is only for true zombies—very few people and bands!
MORBIDZINE: Some current events—did you feel the earthquake that hit Santiago, Chile? Reports say it even shifted some towns on the map. Were you or your friends affected?
NOIZER: We have friends in Chile. It was a terrible and brutal shock!! A lot of poor people lost homes and everything... But it’s a natural disaster of the Earth, just like the one in Peru years ago!! Salutes and strength to our metal friends in Chile!!
