Pioneers of dark-themed heavy metal and key contributors to the development of doom metal, Candlemass are currently recording a new EP titled "Lucifer Rising", which will be released by Nuclear Blast in early October. The EP includes 12 tracks in total: 9 live recordings, a re-recording of their classic "Demons Gate", and 2 new songs titled "Lucifer Rising" and "The White God". The band's next full-length album is expected by mid-2009. Their last release was "King of the Grey Islands" in 2007.
