This guy is absolutely insane. Who am I talking about? None other than the maniac Zack Rose. As if Nunslaughter wasn’t enough, he now returns with Nekrofilth—a filthy, venom-injected project that digs straight into your brain, crushes your nervous system, and leaves you hooked in the most toxic way imaginable. This is the kind of unhinged old school thrash/death metal and punk noise that can only be built upon a foundation of zombies, hate, whores, drugs, death, and completely deranged states of mind. This isn’t music—it’s a shotgun blast to the skull.
Zombie Proof Sessions is the second demo from this Cleveland-based trio, but at around 25 minutes long, it could easily pass for a full-on album. It delivers 14 gut-wrenching tracks, most of which clock in at just 1–2 minutes. The band blends the thrash/death metal sound of Canadian legends Slaughter with the raw energy of old-school Swedish death metal and ‘80s American punk/thrash, and the result is near perfection. The guitar tone grinds like a bone saw, while the filth-drenched, hate-fueled vocals absolutely annihilate. Each track is built around simple, scuzzy, yet absurdly addictive death metal/punk riffs that carve deep into your flesh.
Among the 14 tracks are two ultra-adrenaline punk covers—one from American hardcore legends Negative Approach and the other from cult Canadian punks Dayglo Abortions. This adds another layer of grit and grime to an already disgusting release.
From songs about sewer rats to depraved anthems about injecting piss directly into your veins, this thing is gleefully disgusting. My top picks? Shoot Up Piss, Take Them to the Grave, Lifeless Head of God, Shock Troopers, and Street Bitch—but honestly, just hit play and let the whole thing destroy you a few times over. In the covers—Argh Fuck Kill (Dayglo Abortions) and Nothing (Negative Approach) Zack drops his usual death growls and perfectly nails that fierce ‘80s hardcore punk vocal tone. The result is nothing short of spectacular.
