The Siamese barbarity is back—and it's back in a way that feels like a demonic battalion unloading bullets, unleashing nuclear warheads, and conducting a full-scale massacre. Even though it was obvious from Zygoatsis' previous EPs and splits (some featuring Surrender of Divinity members) that this Thai horde would bring terror on their debut full-length, Siamese Warmageddon pushes destruction far beyond expected limits with 9 tracks (including an Impiety cover), and a CD version that includes an additional Archgoat cover, “Lord of the Void.”
Especially when we saw the initial cover art, we had to slap ourselves a few times. There’s an unholy level of visual excess here—so outrageous it’s almost offensive. Featuring Sunyaluxx and another ex-member of Surrender of Divinity, Zygoatsis is fronted by Sickness666, who also contributes the band’s stunning artwork. The LP and CD versions of this album have different covers: the first one, created by legendary artist Moyen, is a deranged masterpiece, while the alternate was done by Sickness666 himself. Even before the album dropped, that first cover had already declared war on the world. Titled “Hell Declares the War Against...”, it depicts a gas-masked, heavily armed demon listing every country from A to Z, backed by hellish cavalry and missiles, complete with a mounted minigun—all intricate details from a deeply twisted mind.
For those who follow bestial war metal psychosis, Zygoatsis is no stranger. But if you’ve yet to give these Thai maniacs a listen, even just glancing at the artwork is enough to place them in the same hellish lineage as Blasphemy, Sarcofago, Bestial Warlust, Abhorer, Impiety, or Angelcorpse. With 2009’s Siamese Warmageddon, they erupted with malicious force—and this time, they declare total war. Impiety's Shyaithan lends guest vocals on two tracks, further solidifying the album’s pedigree.
One of the standout elements is Sunyaluxx’s exceptional drumming—fast, relentless, and technically sharp. His blasting is intense enough to feel like a physical assault, and the cymbals are tastefully executed without being buried in the mix. The production, in fact, makes sure everything remains clear and brutal, not lost in a muddy wall of noise. Riff-wise, there’s a surprising amount of originality; you’ll find tempo changes in nearly every track that keep your head spinning—and yet the dominant tone remains sheer speed and violence.
Honestly, it’s hard to pick a single favorite track. From the infernal chaos of “Evoke the Goatphomet”, “Zygoatical Epidemic Assassination”, “Black-Forced Khaostorms”, “Ritual of Desecration”, to “The Last Blasphemous Supper”, the entire record is a relentless stampede. Each track is constructed around dynamic rhythm shifts, never staying static for long, and driving full speed into complete devastation.
Sickness666 delivers a savage vocal performance, alternating between guttural brutality and sharp, sadistic screams that push the limits of feral intensity.
